How To Follow A Dream (2)

Let’s continue our conversation. Part 1 (Faith) here.

Grace

We’re gonna mess up, make mistakes. Others we meet along the journey will mess up as well.

Decide in advance to default toward grace. Decide we’ll give others, and ourselves, the benefit of the doubt. Take the energy we invest in judgment and snarkiness – invest it in peace and community.

Grace allows us to follow the dream calmly. No need to confront every offense and right every perceived wrong. Grace allows a sense of tranquility and focus on the task.

Grace does not mean ignoring injustice, pretending everything’s hunky-dory. We’re called to do our part to lean into Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Grace, I think, creates space for discernment and wisdom. When we release what’s beyond our control, when we stop attending every argument – there’s a bit more quiet space in which to hear Jesus’ voice.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
