Ever been overtaken by a sense of gratitude?
I’ve been working for a while on summarizing FREEDOM TOUR 2022. Flipping through photos, I was struck by the sheer number and range of people who came together to make it happen.
Literally hundreds of cyclists, walkers, runners, donors, and volunteers. Stepping into a wide variety of roles, seen and unseen, with smiles on their faces and love in their hearts.
It’s quite remarkable, even more so when you realize all these folks came together around 22 children. Children they don’t know, on the other side of the world.
Big crowds tend to gather around big, flashy causes. But 22 kids? What’s going on?
I believe Jesus touches one heart at a time. He doesn’t need huge organizations and extravagant events. He doesn’t need us to be The Biggest Ride Around. He uses the FREEDOM TOUR and our 22 kids to offer people a chance to say, “I’m In,” to God’s big story of justice. People are attracted to that sort of community.
I absolutely believe that’s true, but I’m still overwhelmed when I see it in action.
Overwhelmed, and incredibly grateful.
