Don’t Stare At The Score

scoreboard.jpgHow much money did we raise?

When you get involved with something like the FREEDOM TOUR you need a scoreboard. Dollars collected. Miles covered. People involved.

Those numbers matter. You keep score so you can track progress and write reports. But it’s important not to stare at the scoreboard.

Focusing on results is a great way to ensure failure.

We’re asking a big question about the FREEDOM TOUR. In the past three years our team has raised over $60,000 to support the kids at the Home of Hope. We wonder if there’s a way to expand what we’re doing and cover the entire $100,000 annual budget for the Home of Hope?

We don’t want to change our vision: Create a community in which people are empowered to trust God, work together as servant leaders, and offer hope to others.

We stay focused on the process of building a community by facilitating a bike tour. If we do that well, the results (fundraising) will follow.

We’re seeking help and ideas. Our team sees the FREEDOM TOUR as a gift, and we want to be good stewards.

How can we grow this thing? How can you see this community expanding in creative, unexpected ways?

Forget the scoreboard…focus on the process.

How do we attract more people to this story of hope?
