Let’s Connect

Last time I promised I’d ask for some help as we work together to expand and enrich the circle around RICH’S RIDE. So today I’ll use my spiffy little graphic to talk a little about connect and spread the word.

Connect is about enhancing a conversation inside the circle. Please don’t think of this as a bunch of chairs arranged in rows, theater-style, with me at the front. Remember—Rich’s Ride isn’t about Rich.

Picture, instead, our chairs arranged in a circle. It’s that way on purpose, because others need you. Nobody’s here by accident. When you take a minute to add a comment at the bottom of the blog, or post a Facebook link with a comment, you never know the impact your thought might have.

Your comments transform a speech into a conversation. The power of linking and sharing is bigger than we imagine, and I believe God uses our connections in ways we’ll often never see.

Spread the word works in many of the same ways, aimed at folks outside the circle.

I can’t tell you how many times someone says, “I wish my ____ (cousin, brother, friend, kid, coworker…you fill in the blank) could hear about this story of hope and encouragement.”

And I always want to say, “Well, tell them.”

Seems simple enough. If you’re inspired by the story of this crazy bike ride, if you think you know someone who might enjoy or be encouraged by it, why not get ‘em involved? Forward the emails. Get them hooked up on Facebook. Have coffee and start a conversation.

It works the same for speaking gigs. If you want to help us tell the story, take a risk and connect us with a group. Or, bring a group together. If you’re not sure how to do that, get in touch and we’ll figure it out.

Let’s be clear—none of this is about helping Rich grow a blog. I’m doing this work because I believe God’s given me a story that can encourage others, and it’s my job to live and tell that story. I seek your help because you know and have connections with people beyond my circle.

Connecting, commenting, linking…it all takes a little time, and we’re all busy. Someone needs your help. Heck, I need your help.

Without it, I’m just an old, bald guy riding a bike.

I’m very happy to be included in your bike ride/journey Rich. I have a wonderful book that I would recommend for a daily devotional, by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman called Streams in the Desert . Today, I was encouraged by the message on waiting. It’s so hard to wait and wonder what God’s doing sometimes! I hope that during any time of waiting, that you wait in prayer, in faith and in quiet patience.
    Peace
