I’m thinking about the last 2 posts and Geoff Duncan’s quote, “Doing the right thing will never be the wrong thing.”
I’m wondering why that isn’t insanely obvious. Why in the world would ANYONE do anything but the right thing?
The answer, of course, is obvious as well – we often avoid doing the right thing because it’s hard, or because we don’t like the potential consequences. Often, it’s simply easier to turn away from what we know is the right thing.
I wish I had a better answer, one that would cast me in a better light. I don’t like facing up to occasions when I knew the right thing and didn’t do it.

As always, my thoughts drift to the kids at the Home of Hope. Halfway around the world, it’s tempting to become comfortable.
As we seek to support these precious children who are anything BUT comfortable, I wonder… how often, without thinking, do I choose the easy path rather than the right one?
My wife and I talk about doing the right thing frequently. She can sometimes get caught up in identifying the right “right thing.” My response is usually some form of talking to God about it, doing your best to remove ego, and with discernment, taking a step while trusting God. It may be the right “right thing” or it may not. Without a doubt God has everything in control. What do you think?
