Family

Here’s an interesting bit of Bible trivia.

Paul uses the phrase, “our Lord” 53 times, & “my Lord” only 1 time.

Perhaps it’s not definitive, but to me it’s at least an indication that Paul thought about following Jesus as a communal activity.

Jesus spent most of His three years of ministry gathering people, traveling with them, eating with them, teaching them. His whole message seemed to be that this thing he wanted them to do ought to be done together.

+ + +

For a lot of us, including me, cycling is a solitary activity. We enjoy time alone on the road, time alone talking to Jesus.

But…The FREEDOM TOUR is a community, a group of folks who support each other in accomplishing a common goal. It’s a space to set aside individual goals and preferences and be the people of God together.

It’s a time to remember that everybody, no matter how fast or slow they ride, no matter how fancy their bike is, is part of the circle that’s come together to support a group of kids rescued from human trafficking.

We are God’s kids. We belong to each other.
