Especially at the ten-year mark, it’s time to evaluate. Look at data. Ask hard questions.
What’s working. What isn’t? Where do we want to go from here? And the tough one:
What needs to change?
Because here’s a tough truth:
Insight is easy. Change is hard.**
We can crunch the numbers and identify weakness. We can cast sweeping visions and write inspiring new mission statements. All that stuff is relatively easy.
None of it matters if we’re not willing to change what we do and how we do it.
Easy to sit in safety and demonstrate our wisdom. Better, perhaps, to make the difficult change that might make a real difference.
