We say the FREEDOM TOUR is a community of people who follows Jesus.
Sounds nice, but what does it mean? Hopefully it’s more than just words. As we plan for 2022, I wonder what makes us followers. What distinguishes us from other cool bikes rides?
Is it the crosses on our jerseys? The prayers?
Follow, I think, means more than symbols and gestures. Following means doing what He did.
Seek justice for the marginalized.
We sacrifice to bring hope and freedom to a group of kids who would have been used and discarded.
Love others unconditionally.
Jesus hung out with and loved those who weren’t welcomed by the religious in-crowd. If we’re followers, we do likewise. We draw a big circle and do all we can to invite everyone – and be clear that everyone means everyone.
I can’t speak for others, but I hope every person involved with the FREEDOM TOUR feels loved.
