When an idea keeps reappearing, pay attention.
I believe one of the ways God speaks to me is by gently suggesting the same notion in different ways until I finally get it. So when I see and hear a proposition more than once in different forms, I think He might be trying to get my attention.
Today I have two such ideas. Perhaps they’ll be meaningful to you as well.
Get To, not have to
So frequently I approach a task with a “have to” attitude. Fact is, there’s not much I actually have to do, but I sure like to play victim and whine about my phantom obligations.
I think God’s telling me, and maybe you, to be grateful for all the things I “get to” do.
Don’t Try To Boil The Ocean
It’s a reminder to be a good steward, to stop trying to change what I can’t and to focus my efforts where I can make a difference.
I can talk to God and lament the injustice of modern-day slavery, but the FREEDOM TOUR can’t end human trafficking. However, we can support the kids at Project Rescue’s HOME OF HOPE.
Do my best and trust God for the outcome. I can heat a pot of water.
I can’t boil the ocean.
