“Everything’s changed.”
Maybe you’ve heard it, or said it. When suddenly it seems like we can’t depend on anything, it’s good to remember an eternal truth:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
“Everything” has not changed. Our plans changed, because plans are based on what we knew when we made them. But our faith, our hope, our vision, remain constant, because they were never rooted in short-term circumstances.
The kids at the HOME OF HOPE made the 22 handprints on our jersey. Their need for justice hasn’t changed, either.
+ + +
The FREEDOM TOUR grew from a crazy, impossible dream to do a cross-country handcycle ride. We thought our 1500-mile ride would be a one-time thing, but God had other ideas.
Our vision has always been about inspiring others to follow a God-sized dream.
I believe vision is more important than ever. I think it’s the perfect time to look up from the short-term quicksand and lean into the truth that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves.
Obviously, this about much more than bike riding. But since bike riding is sorta my lane, I’ll offer a couple of parallel thoughts.
Keep Moving
It’s tempting to sit around, eat ice cream, and binge Netflix. But the current situation makes it especially important to stay healthy.
Cycling is a great way to exercise, refresh your mind, and maintain social distance. Becky and I are indoors on trainers for now, but warm weather and sunshine will soon beckon.
Stay away from groups, but get the bike out of the garage, pump the tires, and crank some miles. You’ll smile a little more, breath a little deeper, and feel a little better.
Just don’t give up completely on ice cream. THAT would be a tragedy.

I don’t know yet what our events will look like, but following big dreams isn’t about organized events anyway.
We’ll make plans when we know more, but right now we hope you’ll register for the One-Day Prologue.
I know finances are tight for many. If you can’t pay the registration fee, don’t let that stop you. This isn’t about dollars, it’s about people.
I believe this is an opportunity to look beyond immediate circumstances and focus on our part in God’s big story of justice.
The FREEDOM TOUR is based on faith. We work together and do our best, and we trust God for the outcome. On that foundation we can still cycle to bring hope and freedom to kids rescued from human trafficking.
I hope you’ll register, get a jersey or t-shirt, and carry the kids’ handprints with you as you ride.
Please click the button and sign up for the Prologue (or a tour if that’s your style). We’ll figure out logistics and payment details later.
