So, now we know.
Thanks to the Internet and a lot of hard work, we all know.
There was a time when it was possible to not-know. About human trafficking, concentration camps, genocide, mass incarceration, modern-day slavery, racism. All sorts of horrible injustice could be hidden away. But Wilberforce is more correct now than at any time in history.
We all know. We can choose to look the other way, turn off our computers, watch only the stuff that reinforces our preferences. But we can’t say we don’t know.
Of course we need to continue spreading the word, but it’s not about awareness any longer. Not really.
If we don’t know, it’s because we’ve decided to not-know. The question isn’t, “Do we know?” We’re past that.
So now that we know, what are we going to do?
