Which Peace?

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.”

Last time I said Jesus holds each child at the HOME OF HOPE in His hands. I said He cares for them one-at-a-time in some mysterious, miraculous way we can’t understand.

Honestly, I wish He would do it differently. I want each child to have a loving family. I don’t want them to fear reprisals from traffickers of corrupt politicians. While I’m at it, I want the entire trafficking/slavery enterprise wiped away. Forever. If I were in charge…

Of course, I’m not in charge, which is a very good thing. You and I are left to accept that Jesus does not give peace as the world gives it, as we envision it. He gives to us, and to our kids, something infinitely better.

His peace. A peace that passes understanding. A kind of peace only Jesus can provide.

And if we want the kids to live in better circumstances…that’s up to us.

Learn to do right; seek justice.
    Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
    plead the case of the widow.

Isaiah 1:17

We’re asked to be Jesus’ hands and feet, doing the hard work of seeking justice in an unjust world. It’s why we ride bikes, why we ask you to ride, volunteer, or donate and join the FREEDOM TOUR team.

I really want Jesus to make it all better. He, apparently, wants you and me to participate in that process.

I’m in. Hope you’ll click the button and join us.
