Bike tours have their share of less-than-serious moments.
Our mission creates a fairly intense environment. We’re focused on kids rescued from sexual slavery. We’re building a community around following Jesus and sharing our stories. Combine that with cranking bikes lots of miles up and down hills, eating on the move, sleeping on floors, and evening devotions…the atmosphere’s fairly passionate much of the time.
However, it’s not all serious. We have our share of laughs and grins. We managed to capture a few of them in photos.
Cyclists get sort of fanatical about their gear, but at a break in Wellington we conducted a “silly sock” contest.
On a hot day west of Pueblo, Larry wanted a cool treat from DQ. Why leave his bike outside when he could ride through the drive-thru?
Chad decided to warm up in Leadville with a little impromptu rock climbing. Gives a whole new meaning to “seeking the foot of the cross.”
Two days, two temperatures on the FRONT RANGE FREEDOM TOUR. Thursday at noon…100 degrees. Friday, 10:12 am…55 degrees. Really?
Speaking of weather–COLORADO MOUNTAIN FREEDOM TOUR cyclists cranked from Salida to Buena Vista in 40 degrees and biting rain, a day after riding over Monarch pass in bright sunshine!
This photo of Gary beneath a maze of directional arrows became somewhat prophetic. Later in the same day Gary somehow got separated from the group and got lost!
We encountered this unusual cyclist on the Denver bike trail. He was completing a 50+-mile ride!
I’m speculating here, but John’s a recently retired preacher. He look kind of sad. Perhaps he’s hoping some children will show up and listen to one of his wonderful sermons.
