At the FREEDOM TOUR, we cycle to bring hope and freedom to kids rescued from human trafficking.
In three weeks our team will gather. I’m sure our discussions will touch on the darkness of slavery, sex trafficking, and the devastating effects of this insidious evil. One might think that ‘s what motivates us, that we’re driven to fight injustice.
The question, though, is What INSPIRES you? Nobody’s inspired by overwhelming darkness or unmasked evil.
We’re inspired when we see changed lives, kids born into sexual slavery now living in freedom. We’re inspired when folks who aren’t sure they can do a bike tour take a risk, follow a dream, get on a bike, and ride from Cheyenne to Raton Pass. We’re inspired when a group of individuals becomes a community through sweat and shared sacrifice.
We’re not inspired by injustice. We’re inspired by hope.
We’re inspired by hope. We’re inspired when people die to self to become part of a story bigger than themselves.
We’re inspired by the smiles of 22 kids we’ll never meet.
I don’t crank my bike 125-150 miles per week to train for the FREEDOM TOUR because the world’s filled with injustice. I do it because there’s so much hope.
In three weeks, our 17-member team begins their journey. We’ll make a difference. Lives will change.
That’s inspiring!
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
