Light In Dark Places

light darkWe’re putting finishing touches on the 2016 FREEDOM TOUR jersey.

It’s turning out really cool, I think. A lot goes into planning and designing all the details. It’s surprising how many parts make up the final product.

For example, here’s one of the two side panels. The message isn’t as prominent as what appears on the front and back, but here’s a fun little insider secret. The side panels will have a special meaning for members of the FREEDOM TOUR team because they remind us of the theme of our team devotionals.

We’ll spend significant time helping each other understand what it means to be LIGHT IN DARK PLACES.

It’s easy to focus on the darkness of human trafficking, to get caught up in the crime and pornography and pervasive wickedness. We could spend all our energy on the horrors of this issue.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” I think we’re called to shine His light in dark places.

Every time I hear about the kids at the HOME OF HOPE doing well in school, or see a photo of one of their little faces, I think of the light of Jesus that’s replaced the darkness from which they came. But I always think of the light, not the darkness.

So we’ll spend a week together learning what Jesus meant about being the light of the world. There’s plenty of darkness; it’s fun hanging out with a group of folks who want to be a bit of light.

You can still join us!

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)

We’re excited about doing what we can to support these special kids, and we would love to have you join us. Check our website for all the ways you can get involved.
