How To Live Out Hope

Hope MobHope means we approach God with a sense of expectancy.

That’s what the pastor said yesterday at the church where we spoke. I love that notion, the idea that we’re excited to see what God’s up to.

(I’m posting this on both blogs today. Apologies to those who received it twice.)

RICH’S RIDE is all about hope, exactly that sort of confident expectancy that God’s doing something incredible.

It’s not the same as expectations, which would be me dictating the outcomes and somehow manipulating God to get my desired results. That’s not going to work.

Expectancy is showing up with eyes wide open, anxious to see what’s next and how I get to be part of the story.

We’re driving home today after a month-long Wisconsin Hope Tour. It’s tempting to just get home and rest. But that’s not what the drive is about.

We’re hopeful, because we’re confident God has something amazing in store. There’s a sense that things need to change, but we don’t know what that will involve.

What’s the new thing God’s doing? I don’t know, but I’m confident He’ll show us when it’s time. He’ll do something marvelous with all of this.

Excited. Eyes wide open. Expectancy.
