What If We All Go?

14 routeOkay, I’m tossing out a challenge.

In about five months a team of roughly twenty cyclists will ride bikes from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Raton Pass on FRONT RANGE FREEDOM TOUR ’14. And I’ve got a crazy idea.

What if you ALL joined us?

Yeah, you heard me…all of you. What if every person who believes in the big dream of RICH’S RIDE joined the team? How much of a difference could we make?

Now I know what you’re thinking—that’s too many people! We can’t have hundreds of riders cranking out of Cheyenne on Highway 85. And besides, not everyone is a cyclist and we can’t all just take a week off.

And you’re right, but that’s what’s so cool about this project. The cyclists are a small part of the puzzle. Like any other team, there’s a role for everyone.

The circle around RICH’S RIDE has grown quite a bit. If we each did a piece, imagine what we could accomplish.

The tour will raise support for Project Rescue’s HOME OF HOPE in Delhi, India. The home serves kids who’ve been rescued from the sex trade. They provide housing, food, aftercare, clothing, and education in a safe environment.

Our goal is to provide all of the yearly operational costs for every kid at the home.

It’s a big dream—exactly the sort of thing RICH’S RIDE is all about. And you get to be part of making it happen.

So if you’ve been reading the blogs and following the rides, if you’ve been inspired by the journey, I encourage you to look at all the different opportunities listed below and find a way to join this team.

We’re going to do something that’s bigger than any of us. Are you in?

HOW YOU CAN BE ON THE TEAM

Ride with us for a week. You’ll meet great people, form lifelong friendships, and advance social justice by shining Jesus’ light into a very dark place.

You don’t need to be an experienced rider. Most folks can do this ride if they train. Following dreams isn’t about what’s easy—it’s about discovering what’s possible. This might be a chance to learn about your capabilities. Maybe God’s asking you to step out of your comfort zone and do something sacrificial.

Drive a SAG vehicle. Want to go along but not sure you’re ready to bike? We need some folks to drive our SAG (Support And Gear) vehicles and help keep riders safe, fed, and hydrated. The SAG folks are an integral part of the on-the-road team.

Ride with us for a day. Love to cycle but can’t take a week off? Come with us for the opening day of the ride from Cheyenne to Fort Collins.

Purchase a jersey. Show your support as you cruise around town. Buy one as a gift for a cyclist family member or friend. Proceeds benefit the Home of Hope.

Sponsor a rider. Many riders will seek support for at least part of their ride fee. You can help with a large or small pledge.

Sponsor the ride itself. Riders will sleep on floors in host churches, and we’ll do all we can to limit expenses. You can help by donating food or gas cards.

Be a jersey sponsor. We’d like a business (or two) to sponsor the cost of our jerseys. We’ll display your logo on the jersey.
