Have you ever felt so overwhelmed with blessings you couldn’t respond with anything except “Thank you” but “thank you” just wasn’t enough?
That’s how Becky and I feel right now. We’ve been adopted in Carbondale, Memphis, Anguilla/Rolling Fork, and Jackson. People have caught the vision behind RICH’S RIDE and shared time, talent, and treasure with remarkable, over-the-top generosity.
I’ve decided that a desire to demonstrate generosity is a hard-wired human trait, an intrinsic part of who we are in God’s image. I believe we’re happy when we can express this innately human characteristic.
Much of the world, of course, has other ideas. We’re told to guard our own turf and accumulate stuff for its own sake. Many people believe “God helps those who help themselves” comes from scripture.
It doesn’t.
That doesn’t mean God’s anti-success or that He wants us to be poor. He wants us to do well, but the end purpose of doing well is the ability to do good.
People have handed us dollar bills and five thousand dollar checks. I absolutely blieve God uses and multiplies every single gift. We’ll put it all in a pile and Convoy Of Hope will use it to change the world for some hungry kids. Want to get in on the fun? Click the chain ring and do what you can.
Thank you to Bruce Payne, Dale Crall, Don Cherry, Nathan Cherry, and the folks at Victory Dream Center and Calvary Campus Church In Carbondale.
Thank you to Cousin Dudley and Melissa Boyd, Veair Green, Chris Cowles, and the great folks at National Bankers Trust in Memphis.
Thank you to Meg Bickerstaff Cooper and a list of people far too long to name at Anguilla United Methodist Church.
Thanks you to my cousin Rachel, her husband Moise, Leslie Bingham, and the wonderful folks at Grace Place and Galloway United Methodist Church in Jackson.
Thank you isn’t enough. It’s all I’ve got.
Kinda how we come to God, huh?

We’re working on a photo album. We’ve gotten a bit behind, but here’s what we have so far. Enjoy! We’ll get it up to date before we start cranking on Monday.
