Tales And Tails

I’m a published author!

You knew I was a blogger. That’s cool, but now I’m co-author of a real book.

Okay, “co-author” might be a bit of an overstatement. In Rich’s new book, I got to write one chapter called Canine Philosophy. It’s chapter 24 if you want to skip the other stuff and get to the good part.

I’ve heard people tell Rich I should write a book, maybe a children’s book, all by myself. That’s kind of flattering, but I don’t think I’d like that. I prefer being a co-author. I think I was made to be part of a team.

I made that joke before about skipping to chapter 24, but I really wouldn’t recommend doing that. My chapter wouldn’t make much sense without Rich and Becky’s story, and I think their story wouldn’t be quite as complete without me.

I’m only a dog, but from what I can see that’s pretty much how life works. For dogs and for people, our stories make more sense when we write them together.

I think everyone should read this book. The trip was a lot of fun, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading about it. And, after all, how often do you get to give a Christmas present with a chapter written by a real, live service dog?

Rich tells me you can order books here.

We’re doing something called a “book launch” at Timberline Church this weekend. I’m not really sure what that means, except Becky says I’ll get to meet lots of people and I like that. Details are here.

Rich didn’t list me as a co-author. Somebody—I think he was joking—said I should be offended because I didn’t get credit. That’s crazy! I don’t help because I want credit. I like doing stuff for people, especially for Rich & Becky. It’s cool that they give me treats sometimes as rewards, but sometimes I get treats just for being me, too.

Rich says he’s afraid chapter 24 will be the most popular chapter in the book. I’m not sure why that would bother him.

The most it would cost him is a few more biscuits.
