We Made It!

This past week has been one of the most intense weeks I’ve experienced. We’ve literally had NO time to catch our breath, and certainly no time to reflect and write.

There’s a lot I want to share. For now, it’s another late night, and an early wake-up call awaits. But I want to share some of the flavor of the ride through a few pictures.

Here’s a snapshot of Friday’s ride.

That’s my bike–and me–covered by a yellow tarp.

You could ask several questions about this odd situation. Why am I sitting beside a West Virginia road covered by a yellow tarp? What made me think this was a good way to wait out a torrential downpour? Why didn’t I get off the bike when the rain started?

Those would all be very good questions.

Helmets up!

This was our prayer tradition on the bikes. It really was cool. Several times each day someone would shout, “Helmets up!” It was time to remember who we were riding for.

The end!

How’s this for a cool celebration in front of the Lincoln Memorial?

A family celebration.

Lots more. Tomorrow things slow down, and there’s be time to reflect and share some of this amazing experience.
