A New Thing

It feels like God’s speaking to me on this trip.

I’ve seen some stuff in familiar scriptures that eluded me before. Today I spoke to some kids about this passage:

“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:18-19

Feels like God’s reminding me that He’s not interested in “same-old-same-old.” He’s doing a new thing in my life, right before my eyes.

And then He says, “Open your eyes! It’s happening right now, right here. Can’t you see it?”

Following Jesus isn’t more of the same. It’s a new thing.

God’s telling me one other thing. He’s telling me to spend a little less time writing and a little more time sleeping.

This time I’m not going to argue.
