Will We Perceive

Last time we looked at one of my favorite verses in Scripture.

“Forget the former things;
    do not dwell on the past.
   See, I am doing a new thing!
    Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

At the end of an old year, we focused on the first two lines. Now, as we begin 2026, let’s look at the last two lines.

As a speaker, I sometimes invited listeners to look around the room, to gaze out the window if possible. To imagine themselves walking along in the middle of something new God was doing.

Because the verse doesn’t say “I might do a new thing.” He emphatically says IT’S HAPPENING.

The question is simple – Will we perceive it?

Will we look past the busyness and the distractions to see the most important thing – the new thing God is doing. Right here, right now.

Perhaps it’s the most important question of the new year. God IS DOING a new thing. Now it springs up.

Will we perceive it?

Of course, as with most things, I’m better at talking about this than doing it. I absolutely believe God is doing something new in my life, but if I’m honest, I don’t work all that hard at perceiving it. I get caught up in same-old-same-old until days and weeks pass by, and I’m sure something amazing has happened right in front of my eyes and I missed it.

More importantly, I think about the kids at the Home of Hope. To them, a new year is just another day on a calendar. But my prayer for them is that they will somehow, in the midst of chaos, perceive the new thing God is doing in their lives.

I’m absolutely certain it’s happening. The funds we raise for The FREEDOM TOUR provide the opportunity for them to see, to perceive.

I hope you’ll find a way to join us in 2026.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
