“Tag. You’re IT!”

Not a line you might expect in a sermon, but there it was. The pastor referenced Matthew 28 and said, “When Jesus left, he said, ‘Tag. You’re IT!’”
It’s a curious image, isn’t it? Just like in the kids’ game, “Tag” passes the responsibility for action. The person who’s “IT” doesn’t get to run away any longer.
I often think about how much Jesus loves the kids at the Home of Hope. I think about how he holds them in his hands. And sometimes I wonder why he doesn’t do something about their difficult life.
Of course, he DID do something.
He gently tapped you and me on the shoulder and said, “Tag. You’re IT!”
