Not Finished

“It is finished!”

Entire books have been written, by people much smarter than me, about those three words. I can’t imagine what he felt, the weight he carried, as he uttered that phrase.

I am sure, though, that Jesus wasn’t finished.

I watched an inspiring video last week, the story of one of our kids. I’m sad I can’t share it with you in cyberspace because it contains details that would endanger the kids and their caretakers. I can tell you, however, that this young woman’s story of rescue and restoration, the number of lives she has impacted, demonstrates that Jesus is still at work. He isn’t finished.

The fact that I can’t speak freely about the Home of Hope without placing the precious people there in danger – that fact makes it clear that the kingdom work isn’t finished. Until every kid everywhere can live in freedom with the opportunity to become all intended, the work continues. Jesus isn’t finished.

Of course, if he’s not finished, then we aren’t, either.

As long as our kids face injustice, we’re not finished.
