At the FREEDOM TOUR, it’s no-fun season.
Updating websites. Filling out forms. Compiling email lists. All useful, necessary tasks, but not exactly the fun part of bike riding.
Cold weather means indoor training – important, but a bit on the boring side.
Yesterday’s quote wasn’t an accident.
Seems like the more I think long-term,
the better I deal with short-term issues.
We don’t do this for the forms and the lists and the websites. We don’t ride bikes because we love training indoors.
Those are short-term issues, and it’s a lot easier to keep them in perspective when I remind myself of the big picture.
We do this because we’re surrounded by a community dedicated to supporting kids rescued from human trafficking. Because Jesus called us to care for the marginalized.
I’ll bet you have some no-fun times in your life, filled with short-term tasks that matter but aren’t really the reason you signed up.
Thinking long-term, keeping that big picture in mind, actually gives purpose and focus to all those short-term tasks.
We cycle to bring hope and freedom to kids rescued from human trafficking.
Now – back to those forms!
