Yesterday I posted a quote: We drink from wells we did not dig.
It’s a reference to Deuteronomy, an ancient reminder to remember God’s provision.
We’re prone, I think, to perceive His provision in individual terms, but the promise was made to a community. Especially in the USA, it’s a difficult mental transition. We’re conditioned to think of “self-made” as a sort of ideal.
I’d like to explore this a bit. To begin – a question:
When you think of freedom, is it “freedom from…” or “freedom to…?”
