Dilemma

Last time we talked about a man who couldn’t walk – until he could.

I described the apparent dilemma. If we believe this story, and if we believe this kind of healing is possible – why not you and me?

Beyond personal concerns, what about justice for the kids at the Home of Hope? Children born in a brothel, subject to sexual abuse from a very early age.

If Jesus is love, if He cares deeply for every person, why would He allow this to happen to little children?

I don’t know. But – just because I don’t know everything doesn’t mean I know nothing.

I believe He asks us to focus on what we do know. And I know He invites us to use our gifts to seek justice for our kids. He invites us to journey with Him, to listen and do what we can with what we have.

And then – He asks us to trust Him for the outcome.

“Why” is a distraction, a way to avoid the difficult, long-term work of following.

He’s God. I’m not.
