One Mile At A Time

Our Hope & Freedom Challenge concluded Saturday.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 80 people have run, walked, and cycled, and recorded their miles in our tracker. Thanks to a generous donor, those miles are matched $1-per-mile.

We began with a lofty goal, hoping to accumulate 60,000 miles. When the dust settled on Saturday, our team exceeded 71,000 miles!

That means $71,000 for the kids at the Home of Hope. And when we add that to our fundraising (total TBD), we’ll be well beyond the $100,000 required to support our kids for a year.

When we began in 2013, the notion that we’d ever reach that goal seemed silly, but here we are.

Our Challenge is a partnership with Project Rescue’s worldwide Freedom Challenge, whose participants have accumulated more than 281,000 miles. More than $280,000, a few miles at a time, to bring hope and freedom to kids rescued from human trafficking.

It’s remarkable what can be accomplished when people work together toward a common goal and trust God for the outcome.
