Last time I asked a question.
What will it be like to meet Jesus face-to-face?
I don’t know what that heavenly greeting will be like, but I don’t have to wait to talk to Jesus. He and I have conversations, especially when I’m cranking my handcycle.
And I think He’s telling me the kingdom is right here, right in front of me. I think He’s telling me He wants me to invest my time in what matters to Him.
This summer, I flirted briefly with the notion of “retiring” from the FREEDOM TOUR after ten years. I’m an old guy, right? Maybe it’s time to relax, play, rest?
I don’t have to wait for “judgment day” to know Jesus’ response to this idea. I heard it, loud and clear.
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless.
We’re working on details for FREEDOM TOUR 2023.
It’s gonna be a blast!
One time I asked myself the same question. But, my dear brother, God answers us in ways we don’t expect. I met a transgender man in a coffee shop while arriving to meet with a group of friends – we were working on a video called, God Doesn’t Make Mistakes. A young transgender man raised in a Christian family had just committed suicide by stepping in front of a tractor-trailer on a busy highway. He left a note: “don’t ever tell your children you weren’t meant to be- because God doesn’t make mistakes.” This is what he was told by his parents. I looked at the transgender man, sunken eyes, left over make-up from the night before, frightened at anyone who might judge him and the staring eyes. I felt love fill my heart and felt God’s Spirit give me understanding – “Every single person is worth loving and saving.” I tried to give him a hug of friendship, but he pulled away – I prayed and prayed that God use him just the way he is to reach other transgenders – especially those considering suicide. I then realized I had met Jesus – face to face. “Whatever you do to the least of these, you do unto me.”
