I want the FREEDOM TOUR to change the world – for Jesus.
What I really mean, of course, is fix the world. Or at least end human trafficking.
Still a bit aggressive? Then let’s at least save 22 kids. Surely we can do that, right? For Jesus?
Except, Jesus never asked us to do any of those things for Him. He didn’t ask us to fix the world or save kids.
He did ask us, clearly and directly, to love our neighbor.
I confess – I don’t always do that. I don’t always WANT to do that. So I immerse myself in a million tasks that look like changing the world for Jesus so I can avoid facing a simple truth.
I’d rather focus on the evil boogeyman of systemic injustice than acknowledge and face where I miss the mark.
We cycle to bring hope and freedom to kids rescued from human trafficking.
Nice tagline for a worthy mission, but it’s gotta be about sacrificial love.
