“What’s the FREEDOM TOUR about?”
Becky’s question surprised me. After ten years, I thought she should know. Human trafficking. Community. Following Jesus. Then I realized she was looking for something deeper.
“Hope,” she said. “From the very beginning it’s always been about hope.”
She’s right, of course. Long before we even considered the FREEDOM TOUR, before we had a website, before we knew about the kids at the Home of Hope, before we thought about bike riding to seek justice for marginalized people – before any of that – we created a tagline for the 1500-mile Mississippi River ride.
Together On A Journey Of Hope.
She’s right. It’s always been about hope.
Hard-won hope born out of injury and despair and a 2-block handcycle ride. Hope that’s more than a wish about short-term desires. Hope that remains through doubt and fear.
Hope: a confident expectation based on faith that God keeps His promises.
Hope, for those who need to step into the story of God’s Relentless Grace.
Hope, for people who weren’t sure they could do a bike ride.
Hope, for folks who needed a place to belong.
Hope, for kids rescued from human trafficking.
Seeking justice for victims of human trafficking.
Seeking justice for victims of human trafficking.
It’s always been about hope.
[…] At its core, like Becky said a few weeks ago, it’s about hope. […]
