A Different Mother’s Day

For many of us, yesterday was about cards, flowers, and a special gathering.

Mother’s Day. An occasion to celebrate the special women who nurtured and sacrificed for us.

Should be every day.

The kids at the HOME OF HOPE didn’t get to have a party with their moms. As the pandemic rages out of control in their city, the kids are locked down while their mothers still endure a horrific life of forced sexual slavery.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to know your mom is a slave. To grow up and gradually learn the details of what she’s forced to endure multiple times each day. I can’t imagine the trauma that causes in a child’s tender heart.

I don’t know how a child survives that sort of deep wound and goes on to thrive.

I know it happens because we see it. In the midst of so much despair, Jesus holds our kids and their caretakers in His hands. And He invites us to join the journey.

I’ve committed to ride 2,000 miles and raise $2,000 for these precious kids. I would appreciate your support.
