The Cool Kids

Jesus asked me to love others, not to be in love with them.

I wrote that a few years ago. Maybe I copied someone. I’m not sure, but it’s a good thought to ponder as our FREEDOM TOUR team takes shape.

I tend to gravitate toward people I like. Most of us are prone to spending time with folks like us, those whose share our interests and values.

Sadly, hanging with friends can easily become exclusive. Suddenly there’s a cool kids table – outsiders aren’t welcome.

“Love your neighbor” means the lines get erased. Everyone’s invited, even those who might not “fit” according to society’s standards.

Jesus brings people together who don’t make sense in other circumstances.

No matter how hard I try, I still begin every season with Rich’s version of the perfect FREEDOM TOUR. I’m sure I know how it should happen and who should show up.

Of course, it never works according to my vision. God brings people and conditions together in ways I couldn’t have imagined, and I end up laughing at myself and my puny plans.

So I’ll invite you, wherever you are, whatever your ability, to find your role in this community. We’ve got an epic COLORADO MOUNTAIN TOUR as well as our FREEDOM TOUR CLASSIC WEEKEND. There’s something for everyone.

You can ride or volunteer. You’ll be part of an amazing community. No cool kids table, just people gathered around love and service to the kids at Project Rescue’s HOME OF HOPE.

And you don’t have to be from Fort Collins. If you’re suffering from cabin fever, the FREEDOM TOUR is a great reason for a trip to Northern Colorado.
