I like words.
I like them so much that I tend to fill every available space. I want to explain, and then explain again. Recently my wise friend Ron gently reminded me of the value of white space.
Ron’s correct. White space and margins leave room to take a deep breath, to think, to make notes. It also forces me to choose my words a bit more carefully and wisely.
White space helps in other areas, too. Maybe we don’t have to fill every available minute, weigh in on every topic, solve every crisis. Maybe some white space, some room to breathe, take notes, and think, would help us choose a bit more carefully.
And often, the margins end up being the places where the creativity happens.
Jesus intentionally inserted white space into His life. He was never “too busy” for quiet conversations, and He often went off by Himself to recharge and talk to His Father.
“Follow Me” meant “do life this way.”
