We’re done!
One-day Prologue. Front Range Tour. Colorado Mountain Tour. 140 riders cycled 11,000 miles and climbed 400,000 feet. A year of plans and COVID revisions, all the training, and FREEDOM TOUR 2020 suddenly ends.
Except, that’s not how it works.
The quest for justice doesn’t end. Bringing hope and freedom to the kids at the HOME OF HOPE doesn’t end. Those kids are learning and dreaming every day, wondering like children across the globe who they’ll be when they grow up.
So we’re still riding bikes. Team members are already dreaming about 2021, thinking about amazing routes we might ride and making fall/winter training plans.
More than 50 people are still walking, running, and cycling as part of the HOPE & FREEDOM CHALLENGE. They’ve logged nearly 37,000 miles already, but they’re not done because the kids at the HOME OF HOPE aren’t done. (You can still join us and make your miles count.)
It’s fun – and important – to celebrate. We flip through pictures, write summaries, and do (socially-distant) high-fives. Congratulate. Encourage. Say thank-you. That’s a big part of the process.
I learned a big lesson from FREEDOM TOUR 2020. Jesus wants me to follow Him, which means do my best and trust Him for the outcome. The key, I think, is to keep asking a simple question: What’s the next right thing?
And, of course, there’s the hard part.
Doing it.
