I don’t read as many books as I should.
During our brief Christmas vacation I devoured FINDING CHIKA by Mitch Albom. It’s a delightful, heartwarming – and heartbreaking – tale of what happens when love steps across the artificial boundaries we place in its path.
FINDING CHIKA, on one level, follows Mitch Albom’s faith journey on his path to operating an orphanage in Haiti. As Albom traces his connection to one child, he speaks beautifully, without trying, to the question, “Why those kids?”
It’s a wonderfully encouraging reminder for those of us engaged in supporting kids halfway around the world.
I hope you’ll read Chika’s story and marvel at this little girl’s ability to touch hearts and create a family hundreds of miles from her home.
