You might pray and trust God with all your heart and still not reach your goal.
You might get rejected. You might try and fail. Your dream may not turn out as you imagined.
It’s okay.
The world wants odds of success before committing. But the question at the beginning ought to be “Is this thing worth doing, is this dream worth following?” That matters more than “Will I succeed?”
“What works?” leads to safe, small projects. “What matters?” inspires risky, outrageous, God-sized endeavors.
There’s no limit to what a committed, passionate group of people can accomplish when they work together and trust God for the outcome.
It’s that last part that’s so difficult—putting my heart into something and trusting God to use my efforts to accomplish His purpose rather than mine.
Yeah, you might get disappointed, but the alternative is to create failure before it happens by not trying.
BRING HOPE AND FREEDOM TO KIDS RESCUED FROM HUMAN TRAFFICKING
That’s worth doing.
In a few days COLORADO MOUNTAIN FREEDOM TOUR begins. Fourteen people will cycle 260 miles and climb nearly 15,000 feet and three mountain passes to follow that outrageous dream. Every team member harbors some fear, some uncertainty. The hills might be too steep. The miles might overwhelm. A million things might go wrong. It might not work out like we want.
It’s okay. It’ll work out the way God wants.
The tour begins in a few days, and I find that the kids at the HOME OF HOPE are on my mind a lot.
We ride bikes and do all the other crazy stuff so those kids can run and play and learn in freedom. We’re doing what we can, where we are, with what we have to help them live the life God intended.
