You’re part of what makes us–us. We couldn’t do this in quite the same way without you.
We long for those words, don’t we? Belonging, love, being part of the circle–deep down, you and I want to be invited, to know we’re accepted and special and necessary. But we also have this tendency to resist the invitation.
Who, me? You don’t need me! You’ll be fine without me.
I’m nothing special. I’d probably just get in the way.
I’m too busy, or too old (or too young).
Perhaps. But I’ve talked to a lot of folks who replaced Who, me? with Yes, Me! They didn’t always have the time, the training, the expertise, even the confidence. But they took WE NEED YOU seriously and stepped into the circle.
Playgrounds got built. Kids got stories read to them. Youth groups got leaders. Old folks’ houses got painted. Furniture got moved. Children got rescued from slavery. People got food. Refugees got shelter. Churches and houses got built or refurbished.
Lives–and souls–got saved. People found purpose and relationship and community.
Tempting to believe WE NEED YOU applies to someone else. Tempting to let them go first, to stand outside the circle and wonder what it’s like to be part of something like that.

I’m thinking, of course, about the FREEDOM TOUR because, well, that’s my thing. When I say WE NEED YOU I’m absolutely serious.
If the notion of this tour intrigues you, WE NEED YOU. I believe there’s a spot for you in this circle, and we won’t be able to do it in quite the same way without you. I don’t know how that works…I just know it does.
So if that’s you, I want you to know you belong. Here’s the invitation:
Please visit the website, check out the possibilities, and complete a registration.

Life is about more than bike tours. You and I belong…not because we ride bikes or any other superficial nonsense. We belong because God created us for community.
So don’t stand outside the circle waiting for the right time that will never come. Don’t wait until you’re fixed, or less busy, or older or younger (!) or whatever. Accept the invitation.
We need you.
