FRONT RANGE FREEDOM TOUR ’15 is underway.
This year we tried something new, a one-day Community Prologue a week in advance of the actual tour. Riders chose between 30-mile and 58-mile routes. The weather was spectacular, and the day was a great success.
The riders began in a big circle, symbolic of their participation in the circle of this big dream. New folks and returning riders prepared to share a time of community. Becky reminded everyone of the mission, the kids, and the HOME OF HOPE.
This was the first time to see our new jerseys in a group. It’s fun to remember all the planning and design ideas and see how it all turned out.
This only happens because people volunteer to serve where they’re needed. Food, drinks, even a little dog-sitting.
Our great friends at Lee’s Cyclery provided these two dedicated, hard-working SAG supporters.
Cyclists had a great day to tour Fort Collins and Loveland.
Of course there are always a few flat tires.
And there’s the welcome sight of the trailer, some shade, and our trusty support team to replenish and re-hydrate.
Smiling faces, good friends, and stories are the best part.
The tour takes off in earnest next Saturday morning from Cheyenne. Sunday morning we’ll leave at 7:30 from Timberline Church for a 68-mile ride to Brighton. If you’re in the NoCo area, join us for a “helmets up” prayer to send us on our way.
It’s getting exciting, and…it’s gonna be a blast!
