Ever make a big deal out of small stuff?
We can move a team of cyclists 70 miles safely down the road, eat great meals, enjoy a bit of silliness, help each other with bike repairs, and build great relationships. We travel through incredible scenery, meet interesting people, and interact with folks from around the world via social media.
All that happens…then some minor disagreement occurs. No big deal–when a bunch of people occupy the same space for a week, it’s gonna happen. So at the end of the day, what do you remember?
Do you remember the triumphs, the gains, the remarkable achievement of organizing this caravan and getting it from place to place? Do you remember the dozens of people who were impacted by the message that day? Do you remember the big picture, the lives you’re touching, the folks who believe in you and are praying and cheering for you?
Nope. You remember that single minor disagreement, that incident nobody else even noticed. Your focus on one or two insignificant stumbles prevents you from viewing the work God’s doing right before your eyes.
Big picture. Long term. That’s how God works. Of course He cares about the details, and we should as well. But let’s not allow our demand for an unattainable perfect blind us to the amazing good.

Mornings on our tour are a special time.
After the bleary-eyed shuffle to get everything loaded and ready, there’s that moment when we stop and focus on what matters.
Word of the day. Helmets up. Remember why we ride. Remember the One in whose name we ride.

Yesterday I told you this team tended to get a bit goofy.
Dante, Jeff, and Doug got loose in Valor High School’s wrestling room. I don’t think Hulk Hogan has anything to worry about.
