A Pilgrim Asks Questions

spiritualHe’s on His way home, this leg of the journey nearly complete.

That’s how the end of this week feels, and yet so much must have been swirling around in His head as He contemplated the road ahead. It wouldn’t be easy, but He didn’t come for easy.

Honestly, there’s a lot swirling around in my head this week as well. Jesus wouldn’t have been distracted, but I am. So I thought I’d share a couple of thoughts in the form of questions. They’ll help you see some of what’s been distracting and maybe offer a hint or two about re-centering on the guide.

When did Jesus place limits on who was worthy of receiving our love and service?

What’s the source of freedom?

Jesus turned directly TOWARD His cross. How often do I turn away when I see injustice?

I’m reading a wonderful book titled Chasing Francis by Ian Morgan Cron. To paraphrase a line from that book:

When I get to heaven, I don’t think God will ask me why I wasn’t MLK or Gandhi. I think He’ll ask me why I wasn’t Rich Dixon.
