Tummy Rubs

Monte shadowYesterday we visited a new church.

I don’t really understand church, but I’m just a dog. But the people were nice, and Becky and Rich had a good time. That’s good enough for me.

If you haven’t been here long, I should explain our little secret. I understand everything Becky and Rich say. It doesn’t always make sense, because I’m just a dog. But Rich lets me write here occasionally because I have a different view of this project.

I guess the preacher talked about body parts like ears and feet and how they’re different but they’re all important. I have pretty cool ears, but even a dog knows you can’t walk on your ears or hear with your feet.

Becky said the point is that we’re just like the body parts. We all different and we’re all important.

Me? I’m the people magnet. .

I hang out and most people just can’t resist walking up to the table. They act like they never saw a dog before and ask if it’s okay to pet me. Then they bend over and I roll on my back, which they think is adorable, and invite them to rub my tummy.

After that, it’s up to the rest of the team. My cute floppy ears and a tummy rub starts the conversation. They take it from there.

I used to think I wasn’t a real part of the RICH’S RIDE team because I don’t ride a handcycle or do other cool stuff. But now I realize tummy rubs are important.

And, just between you and me, nobody wants to see Rich on his back so somebody can rub his belly, right?

Everyone has a role. What’s yours?
