HAPPY MONDAY!
A cold indoor Sunday brings today’s word-of-the-week…
NATIVITY
Becky loves indoor Christmas decorations.
Yesterday while I watched football, our house became home to more than a dozen Santa’s, a herd of reindeer, a variety of sleighs, some stars, a few angels, several framed Christmas puzzles, a couple of snowmen, a porcelain version of the twelve days of Christmas, and an Advent calendar. (The tree will come later.) It’s all fun and festive.
My favorite, though, is the two Nativity scenes.
I love to sit and stare at the different characters. I can’t help wondering–what were they thinking? What did they understand? What was it like?
Did they know they witnessed the moment when everything changed?
I want to talk to them. I want to hold the baby. I want to watch Him grow up.
I know–it’s all silly, but to me it’s a form or prayer, a way of trying to know Him a little better. I don’t want to know the story.
I want to know the baby.
Let’s spend this week, this month, getting to know Him.
