What If You’re On A Mission?

group first presWhat if God had something in mind when He created you?

What if He gave you specific gifts, stuff you enjoyed and were good at? Don’t you think using those gifts would be a big part of what you were made to do?

What if you could figure out what you were made to do, and do a lot of that in a way that serves others? Don’t you think you’d have a pretty full, meaningful life?

In fact, I think that’s a pretty good definition of what it means to pursue a calling. I believe it’s what Jesus had in mind when He said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10b)

Here’s an example. FRONT RANGE FREEDOM TOUR has a serious mission:

Bring hope and freedom to victims of human trafficking

When people inquired about the ride, we asked them a question:

Suppose you could
bring hope and freedom to victims of human trafficking
by riding your bike
through beautiful country
with a team of cool people.

WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THAT?

Do you see what the question really asks?

What if you could accomplish your mission and serve others by doing what you were made to do and working in community with others?

Your mission trip isn’t about building houses or painting schools or whatever work you do. Hammers and paint brushes are the tools, but the mission is about relationship and love and connection and sharing Jesus.

Some folks think our team is doing a bike tour. They’re wrong. We’re pursuing a serious, important mission that happens to involve riding bikes. And we’re doing it together, as a team, and having a good deal of fun in the process.

WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THAT?
