We’ve met some really special people on this trip.
Friday morning our lives were enriched by a group of men at Teen Challlenge New Life Ranch in New River, Arizona. If you don’t know about Teen Challenge, it’s a highly effective residential program for men who want to resolve substance abuse issues. We did a presentation. The guys at the ranch gave us the gift of their stories.
We arrived as the residents were completing their morning chores. As usual, Monte sort of interrupted the routine.
As we prepared for our presentation, it looked like Monte might take over the whole production.
After we finished, the guys got a kick out of seeing one of their friends try out my bike.
We gave each man a book and had fun signing them.
One of the guys gave us this beautiful handmade cross, and Pastor Rick signed it. It’ll be a treasured reminder of our visit.
After we finished I rode about 35 miles back into the city. Before I left, we did helmets up to remind ourselves who we’re riding for.

Our ride into yesterday Phoenix raised our total to 326 miles. Becky will do some riding this morning while I speak to a men’s group. I’ll spend the rest of the day making sure I’m ready for my talk tomorrow morning.
Wish me luck!
