The story’s adapted from an episode in Relentless Grace.
The photo shows the same plain wooden cross described near the end of the story. It still hangs in our bedroom.
When I made the cross more than thirty years ago it represented a desire to give what I knew about myself to what I knew about Jesus. Much has changed. The cross and what it represents remains.
