Wow! Thursday was an intense day.
I started with a twenty-five mile training ride on a great bike trail. Then we met our team for the IJM Freedom Tour.
What an amazing group! These folks converged from all across the U.S. with a common purpose: to gain rescue and justice for victims of violent opression.
One striking aspect of the group is the number of inexperienced cyclists. Many of them didn’t own a bike six months ago, and in three days they’ll embark on a difficult 500-mile journey. You have to wonder why.
One lady said it well. She felt convicted to act, to engage, to do something beyond feeling outraged. She felt that she wanted to offer something of herself.
She’s not a cyclist, not an athlete. So why is she doing this tour? Why take on such a difficult challenge, something so far beyond her experience and so far outsidee her comfort zone?
Because she wants to give an offering that costs her something.

How fun! Not so much the offering part, though that’s very cool, but the coming together with like-minded folks for a great cause. New relationships, new experiences, new and bigger ripple effects in the Kingdom…
Ride on!
What comes to mind is Romans 12:1 …in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices…
Our prayers are with all of you as you make this journey.
