Blastoff

Happy Monday!

I invite you to share today’s word-of-the-week…

BLASTOFF

The day’s finally arrived. This morning at 9am (CT) we’ll depart from Lake Itasca State Park on our 1500-mile odyssey. It’s time for blastoff of this crazy dream.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s joined the circle and made this day possible.

My wife Becky put her life on hold to help me accomplish this dream. She’s handled a million organizational and logistical details, and now she has to put up with me for eight weeks on the road. That’s true love.

Our sponsors displayed amazing generosity by providing the financial resources to allow the project to proceed. Each time I feel a bit discouraged I look at their logos and remember how many people believed in this dream when it was only a glimmer in my brain.

My church family, particularly Pastors Dick Foth and Mark Orphan, caught my vision and joined us with amazing discernment and spiritual
energy. We wanted this to be mostly about God—they helped us to keep that focus.

And then there’s you. None of this could have happened without your encouragement and willingness to listen. I am grateful for the conversation and feedback and the support I feel from you.

Dreams are born in one person’s imagination, but bring a dream to life requires a team of folks who are willing to share the vision. Thanks for being part of the team that’s made this day possible.

If you want to follow along, this cool little GSP device will track the ride as it occurs and plot my location in real time. If you’re curious, check in and always know the answer to the burning question: Where’s Rich?

Have a great week.
