One really fun part of this project is the new toys we get to play with. Jax Mercantile in Fort Collins generously donated a GoPro camera.
This camera mounts nearly anywhere, and takes wonderful action videos. So yesterday, for pratice, we strapped it to the top of my bike helmet while I took Monte for his morning run.
I still have some learning to do. For example, during this experiment I discovered that the waterproof back blocks most of the sound. Now I understand why they provided a spare back with holes. I suppose I could’ve read the instructions, but where’s the fun in that?
Anyway, here’s a thirty minute ride edited to a couple of minutes that offers you a hand cycle point of view of a trip around our neighborhood. It’s perhaps the worst video ever, except I thought you might enjoy seeing the cycle from my perspective.
Hopefully I’ll figure out how to use this amazing technology to provide some interesting views along the ride. It’s too cool to use for bad home movies.
