Planning a project like this is a pretty humbling experience.
It’s really amazing to feel the power of a community forming around a dream. People are stepping into the circle from all directions, asking how they can help, and running with their ideas. I’ll do some short posts this week to offer some insight about the ways people are claiming pieces of this project.
When I initially conceived this idea, I didn’t really try to plan out all the details that would have to come together to transform dream into reality. I knew we’d face big logistical obstacles, and I was tempted to back away from the challenge. Instead, I decided to take a leap of faith and trust that God would use this vision however He wanted.
I’m glad I made that choice, because He’s already done much more than I would have imagined. And even though we’re approaching “crunch time” and it seems impossible that it’ll all come together, I’m confident that it will. I’m pretty sure the final product won’t be very much like my current conception; I’m also sure that the differences will mostly be positive.
People are beginning to contact us about speaking opportunities along the route. It’s amazing to hear the stories and see the smiles as we hear about old connections. I am beginning to realize how many new folks well meet along the way. It’s kind of fun to imagine how we’ll touch each other and who might be impacted by the continuing story of Relentless Grace.
Thanks for being part of this circle as we get going. I hope you’ll keep seeking ways to be involved. We love hearing from you and reading your comments. The ride begins in five weeks—I have a feeling that time will pass pretty quickly.
I’m also wondering about your big dreams. I hope RICH’S RIDE challenges you to take that crazy idea off the shelf, wipe off the dust, and see what you can do about making it happen.
